We better start with her name. Awandra, the new Baglietto launched in July 2025, does not only echoe the first two letters of the shipowner’s family name, but also pays homage to Awandra, who in the pantheon of mythological figures from Dungeons & Dragons is the goddess of fate and fortune, representing the desire for adventure and freedom. It is no coincidence that she is venerated above all by adventurers and merchants, who honor her with shrines along the roads rather than in large temples. Her creed encourages people to take control of their own destiny and fight for freedom. Often represented by three wavy lines or a symbol evoking movement, she encourages exploration of the unknown and positive change in opposition to the tyranny of Asmodeus. So far, this is a myth taking shape on the ninth 52-meter T52 built at the Baglietto shipyard in La Spezia, which also oversaw the naval architecture of this maxi yacht: 498 GT, 52 meters long, with a beam of almost nine meters, Awandra has a steel hull and a three-deck aluminum superstructure. For everything else, it was Francesco Paszkowski who, with the collaboration of Marta Casprini for the interiors, gave shape and elegance to this jewel of Italian yachting which can accommodate up to twelve guests: five cabins and a crew of nine people guarantee absolute comfort even on long voyages. Awandra’s hybrid propulsion allows her to remain at anchor for 12 hours using only the energy from the onboard batteries. When sailing, the two Cat C32 engines guarantee a top speed of 16 knots and, thanks to 70,000 fuel tanks, a range of 4,500 miles at 12 knots. A tribute to the desire for freedom and adventure that Awandra represents and protects in the D&D universe.
